As we kick start planning for the 2025/26 season, we’d like to announce several opportunities to get involved with coaching the Women’s teams here at CURUFC.
Our Women’s section is made up of three teams: the Blues (1VX), Tigers (2XV), and Jaguars (3XV) with the Blues and Tigers taking part in regular BUCS and invitational matches throughout the season, and the Jaguars playing development games against local sides. All three teams play a Varsity Match at the end of the season. Our teams are made-up exclusively of students and so all games are played alongside academic studies in university term time. We are looking for coaches who are exited at the opportunity to pass on knowledge and skills to a wide range of abilities. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of rugby’s oldest and historic institutions. Our club is special and values inclusivity of all nature and therefore support of this is non-negotiable within these positions.
Tigers (2XV) Lead Coach
Introduction of our 2XV team into the BUCS league system 5 years ago has massively increased the development and sense of identity our newer rugby players feel being part of this team. Now, the Tigers have progressed in both size and skill and requires a coach that can fully prioritise their development. Working closely with the Blues coaching team, this position will deliver quality coaching to the Tigers, ensuring alignment with the Blues to encourage development and promotion of the players. We are looking for an enthusiastic coach to take on this role. Availability on most Wednesday afternoons for games is important for this position.
Blues (1XV) Forwards Coach
Our Blues team have experienced the highs and lows of rugby over the past few years and the exciting re-signing of our Head Coach, Will Cotterill, for the next 2 years provides an excellent opportunity for an assistant coach to support our vision. We are looking for an experienced coach to deliver high quality training sessions with a forward-focus, specifically on scrums, lineouts, and alignment of set piece between the forwards and the backs. The coach will also act as an assistant coach, taking the lead on some sessions throughout the season. Availability on Wednesday afternoons is a bonus for this position.
