We are delighted to invite you to kick off CURUFC women’s 2024/5 season at the Old Girls Match on Saturday 5th October 2024. We’re planning a full day of family friendly activities for all past players and supporters of Women’s rugby at Cambridge University.
Led by our outgoing captain Emilia Bushrod we at CURUFC have been working hard to identify all those who were in the first team squads and have now assigned a Cap Number and we would love to get a huge turnout to award the Caps to players in person at the annual Old Girls match.
Talking about how she came up with the idea Emilia said:
“I think the fact that the men had such a detailed record and it was kept all the way through and whenever anyone asked about knowing the women’s caps, the answer was no-one has ever done it. That frustrated me.
“I knew that the men got a number, and they are very connected to that number and it’s special for them, and they get their Blues number every year.
“I thought that would be so cool.”
