STEELE BODGER MATCH
Our annual Cambridge University Rugby team’s clash against a Micky Steele-Bodger XV remains one of the showcase events in the Cambridge calendar. The 78th edition of the match will take place on Wednesday 25th November 2026 KO 3pm.
All of the normal attractions, which have made it one of the most eagerly anticipated days in the local Rugby calendar, will be held once more. Many of our local sponsors and supporters will be present and entertained in the pavilion and marquees at Grange Road and there will also be traditional lunch for returning former players in Selwyn College, before the match.
Early Bird ticket sales and table reservations have now ended and tickets offered to successful applicants. Any remaining tickets will be released in Autumn.

How do I get there?
We ask people to respect the environment and our neighbours by using public transport to access the ground. Any parking we do have at the ground is already reserved. There are several other options for those wishing to drive such as Madingley Road Park and Ride or the Grand Arcade carpark. Both of these carparks have good bus links to West and Grange Road.
For those arriving to Cambridge by train the U bus route also runs between the station and West Road.
There are several reputable taxi suppliers operating in Cambridge. We have communicated to these taxi companies that there is no drop off zone directly outside the ground. Taxi’s can drop off on Queen’s Road or West Road which are just a short walk away.
What is the dress code?
There is no specific dress code for the event. However, it is likely to be cold so please dress weather appropriately with warm layers and sensible shoes!
Will I need drinks tokens?
The bars will be running on drinks tokens once more. These will cost £6.50 for an alcoholic drink and £3.00 for a soft drink and be available at stations all around the ground. Drinks tokens are non-refundable and only valid on the day.
Will there be any food available for general admission?
Yes, there will be food available from the Cantab Café in the clubhouse as well as from the Meat Up Cambridge food trucks in the Fan zone.
What happens if I get hurt or need assistance?
The ground is fully stewarded on the day, they will be easily recognisable in their hi-vis jackets so please don’t hesitate to ask for help. There will also be an ambulance situated in the front carpark with first aiders should you need medical assistance.
Are there any exclusive areas?
There are some exclusive areas around the ground which are wristband only. However, we have even more bars around the ground this year including our fan zone so there are still plenty of places to network.
If you have any other questions, please do get in touch. The office is very busy in the run up to the game, but we will do our best to get back to you.
