CURUFC was saddened to hear of the passing of Brian Mitchell on 21st June. Brian held several roles at CURUFC over the year’s including Senior Honorary Secretary from 1974-90 and Treasurer from 1990-1995. In 2012 he was amongst those appointed Vice Presidents of the club in recognition of their extraordinary service. As well as a rugby enthusiast he was an also an academic who enjoyed gardening, the wine, food, travelling, and village life.
Our thoughts are with Ann and the rest of Brian’s family.
Brian’s funeral will be held at St Andrew’s, Toft CB23 2RH at 11.00am Tuesday August 12th followed by drinks and canapes at the Church.
A Celebration of Brian’s Life will also be held at St Andrew’s, Toft CB23 2RH at 11.00am. Saturday 20th September (which would have been his 96th birthday). If possible, please let Anne know if you are planning on attending.
