You will have seen our esteemed Club Captains Fergus and Bethan around Grange Road and on socials but we’d like to introduce them both to you properly with a Q&A so you can get to know the people who are leading the Blues teams week in, week out alongside our coaches.
First up Fergus Hughes who leads the men’s Blues:

Honours and Previous Clubs: Crusaders U18/U20. University College Dublin 1st XV & Tasman Mako.
Favourite CURUFC moment so far: The other place continuing to give us lip whilst we piled 50 onto them last year .
Which pro do you play like: I used to model my game on Ethan Blackadder having spent time training with him back in NZ, but I fear I’ve transformed into more of a Parisse show pony.
Special talents: Well, I have somehow made the Blues cricket squad for the upcoming year, but aside from that I sing in a band called Danny and the Deviants, who rocked a few May Balls seriously hard last year.
Pre-game meal: Overnight oats, with yoghurt and frozen berries, washed down with a sugar free Reb Bull.
Hype Song: Chasing the Sun by The Wanted.
Favourite CURUFC player of all time: Tim Andrew, always steps up for the big occasion.
Who’s your player to watch this season? Matt Riddington has really piled on some size this year so keen to see how he goes in the centres.
